The organizer shall not be responsible for lost valuables.
Lecture series
The lecture series are recommended for children between 8 and 14 years old. Of course, children of other age groups, the young at heart, and all other interested individuals are also welcome!
Though a registration for the lecture series is not obligatory, we kindly ask that you register.
Sommer School for Children
To provide the best possible and effective support to the children entrusted to us, we kindly ask you to observe the following guidelines:
Admission and registration
Registration is only possible for entire weeks on the website of the KinderUniGraz. A total of approx. 70 children will be admitted per week. Registration both for employees and students of all participating project partners and in general will be done online in April. One alternative of the program can be chosen per week and per child.
Opening hours and meeting points
The SommerKinderUni takes place in the first four weeks of the summer holidays. Attendance is possible from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 5 pm. All participants meet daily at 8 AM in the breakfast room. We ask all parents/guardians to accompany their children on the first Monday of the SommerKinderUni. Start: 7.45 AM in the breakfast room.
Costs
Employees and students of the participating universities and extermanl participants must pay 80 euros per week. The fee includes breakfast, snack, lunch, and beverages as well as other expenses in connection with the SommerKinderUni. All contributions towards expenses have to be paid immediately after registration to the following account: IBAN: AT 321200050095500605, BIC: BKAUATWW, in the name of “Universität Graz”.
You must necessarily indicate the internal order number A28789200002 and the name of the child, otherwise it will not be possible to assign the payment.
Illness/Absence
If a child falls ill or is unable to attend the SommerKinderUni, this must be immediately reported to the team of the KinderUniGraz office. The supervisors are not allowed to administer any medication. In case your child suffers from any allergies or food intolerances, we kindly ask you to inform us thereof and to give your child the corresponding emergency medication to take with them.
Cancellation of the KinderUniGraz
If workshops have to be cancelled due to important reasons such as illness of the lecturers or a too-small number of participants, the paid contributions towards expenses will be refunded.
Bringing and picking up your child
Parents must ensure that children are properly delivered to the supervisors of the SommerKinderUni and are picked up from these by the parents themselves or their authorised representatives. The children must register at the registration table/check-in every day. Attendance will be taken by the guides of the individual groups before the start of a workshop. If a child does not appear at the usual meeting place, the event organizers will not assume any liability. The parents must sign a corresponding approval in advance if they want to allow their children to return home alone.
Supervision obligation
The staff’s supervision obligation shall begin with the delivery of the child to our supervisors and shall end when the child is picked up by the parents or another authorised person, or when it is allowed to go home alone, but not later than 5 pm. The event organizers assume liability for the children within the event premises and for the duration of the workshops and the sports programmes.
Cancellation
The finished registration is binding. If the booked spot will not be taken, we ask for timely cancellation. Up until two weeks before the start of the SommerKinderUni the cancellation can be realized without fees on the site of booking under https://www.kinderunigraz.at/buchungen. Afterwards we keep the right to bill the full price. In the cases of illness or accident the costs will be refunded if a doctor attests to said illness or accident for the duration of the course. The aforementioned cancellation due to illness/accident must be informed upon via e-mail to info@kinderunigraz.at before the start of the concerned course week. Should the registered child not be able to attend the course due to illness or accident occurring during the week, no refund can be paid.
Cooperation
Good cooperation is important to us. Should you have any concerns we ask you to contact either the caretakers of the SommerKinderUni in person or our team at the KinderUniGraz-office.
We would like to point out that a repeated violation of the rules of behaviour will lead to the cancellation of the participation and the child can be sent home. The child’s legal guardian will be informed thereof by telephone.
Graduation
Eligible for participation are all children who collected at least two stamps in their passport in the respective year, that is, who participated in at least one workshop or two lectures.
